4229 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Finance: What is the total headcount as at 25 March 2024, for each of the Minister’s Departments, Ministries, and Agencies?

Hon Nicola Willis: Treasury had a Headcount of 660 (for 644.3 FTE) as of the 31st of March 2024. This number includes active permanent and fixed term employees, including employees seconded out of the Treasury. The number excludes people on long term leave and people seconded into the Treasury. Due to restrictions in our systems we are unable to provide a figure as of the 25th of March 2024. However, we can provide a figure as of the 31st of March 2024. RBNZ had a headcount of 599 as at 25 March 2024. I note that RBNZ is still operating within the funding agreement determined under the last Government. The funding agreement for the next five years is yet to be determined but it is my expectation that it will appropriately reflect this Government's more disciplined approach to Government spending. This number includes all personnel, including active employees (permanent and fixed term), non-active employees (those on leave of absence).
