4201 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 toward the objective ‘Improve current testing for hepatitis C’ under ‘Focus area 3: Testing and screening’ in the National Hepatitis C Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, the national hepatitis C pathway continued to be promoted to primary care services to develop a more consistent national approach to testing for hepatitis C. This included education and training sessions for Hauora Māori and Pacific providers; nurses, and midwives. I am further advised that during the quarter, training of community pharmacy providers in the provision of dry blood spot testing continued in Northern Region.
