Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 toward the objective ‘Improve the surveillance and monitoring of hepatitis C’ under ‘Focus area 4: Surveillance and monitoring’ in the National Hepatitis C Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand and the Public Health Agency continued modelling to provide new estimates on the incidence and prevalence of hepatitis C infections.
