4189 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 has been made toward the action ‘Increasing national and local leadership and collaboration’ under Focus area 1: ‘Surveillance, information and knowledge system actions’ as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand appointed a Clinical Advisor Sexual Health to provide clinical advice and leadership to support work on sexually transmitted and blood borne infections and sexual health. I am further advised that this role helps ensure that appropriate clinical expertise is at the centre of the work and promotes greater collaboration with regional clinical leaders.
