4189 (2024). Scott Willis to the Minister for Biosecurity: What steps if any, is the Minister taking to ensure that MPI’s capacity in managing Mycoplasma bovis is preserved, despite potential resource constrains resulting from MPI’s proposed budget cuts?
Hon Andrew Hoggard: Since 1 November 2023 OSPRI has delivered the day-to-day operational and disease control functions of the Mycoplasma bovis (M. bovis) Eradication Programme. The Government is committed to ensuring that the M. bovis Eradication Programme continues to make progress on the gains achieved to date. There are currently no active confirmed properties and background surveillance continues to confirm that M. bovis is not widespread in our national herd.
