Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 has been made toward actioning ‘New and innovative technologies and service delivery methods’ under Focus area 2: Combination prevention and health promotion actions as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, new technologies for delivering HIV testing included a partnership with Grindr and the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa that delivered in-app and online ordering of home testing kits for HIV. This has resulted in a significant increase in the quantity and quality of testing, with higher client diversity and improvements in distribution networks.
