Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 has been made toward actioning ‘Cross-government actions on HIV combination prevention’ under Focus area 2: Combination prevention and health promotion actions as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa, in partnership with Positive Women, delivered HIV promotion, prevention, and testing services in tertiary educational institutions. This work was funded from the HIV Action Plan funding. I am further advised that during the quarter, Te Manawa Taki region continued to offer regular clinics at Probation Services centres using the mobile hepatitis C van. This is a pilot approach working in collaboration with an HIV nurse who also offered HIV and syphilis testing.
