Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter July to September 2024 has been made toward actioning ‘Initiatives that empower and connect people living with HIV’ under ‘Focus area 4: Support for people living with HIV, including stigma and discrimination actions’ as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that during the July to September 2024 quarter, HIV service providers continued to deliver peer and community-led programmes and resources to support and empower people living with HIV. This included work progressed by the kaupapa Māori, peer-led organisation (Toitū te Ao), which is funded to connect and empower Māori living with HIV.
