4161 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What are the estimated total capital and annual operating costs for the Accelerated Capacity Project, and how do these compare with initial cost estimates in the Programme Business Case?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that as the Accelerated Capacity Project (ACP) is currently in active procurement, the estimated total capital and annual operating costs cannot be provided. However, I am further advised that the cost estimates used in the High Security Capacity Programme Business Case are consistent with subsequent work undertaken to refine costings in the Single Stage Business Case, and Approval to Deliver documents. The ACP remains on track to deliver within its approved budget for capital and ongoing operating costs.
