4157 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: What impact, if any, will self-funding the Accelerated Capacity Project from Corrections’ capital reserves have on the Department’s ability to invest in other infrastructure priorities?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections will utilise existing capital reserves to self-fund the capital costs for the Accelerated Capacity Project (ACP).
I am further advised that the decision to self-fund the ACP investment will utilise the majority of Corrections’ current capital reserves, meaning Corrections will not be able to self-fund future Long Term Network Configuration Programme investments until capital reserves have built back up.
