4144 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Associate Minister of Education: How many, if any, school lunches were wasted during the week of February 2nd 2026, expressed as an overall number?

Hon David Seymour: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that, in the week of 2 February 2026, external model suppliers to contributing primary schools delivered 132,571 meals. There were 11,422 surplus meals, equating to 8.6 percent. This response does not include data from the School Lunch Collective, as their reporting cycle for surplus lunches varies from other external suppliers.
