4128 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections

4128 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: For each quarter since 1 January 2024, how many women on remand were declined bail, broken down by primary recorded reason for remand (including risk of reoffending, risk of flight, and lack of suitable accommodation)?
Hon Mark Mitchell: Corrections does not decide who is granted or declined bail, including when that person is held on remand in a corrections facility, as that is a decision for the Courts.
I am advised that if this information is shared with Corrections, it would be held on a person’s individual file. Therefore, Corrections is unable to provide the number of women on remand who were declined bail, broken down by primary recorded reason for remand.
