4111 (2026). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: How many women in prison, if any, are currently assessed as having a primary mental health need, broken down by prison and security classification?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that to provide this information would amount to substantial collation and manual analysis, which I am not prepared to ask of my officials for the purposes of this response.
I am further advised, that while Corrections cannot separate out primary mental health need, they can provide all mental health needs, which includes higher needs. Please see Appendix one for a breakdown of the number of women in prison who are currently receiving, and waitlisted to receive, mental health services, broken down by prison and security classification.
