4007 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Who nominated Murry McCully to the School Property Inquiry?

Hon Erica Stanford: I proposed that Hon Murray McCully would be appointed as the lead independent reviewer. Murray McCully has extensive knowledge of government and public finance, having served in numerous Ministerial roles, including as New Zealand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs for eight and a half years and was a member of Parliament for thirty years. He also has extensive governance experience especially in construction and infrastructure, and currently sits on a range of boards, including as Chair of both the Te Tai Tokerau Water Trust and Far North Housing Limited.
