3959 (2026). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Finance: On what date or dates did she consider the Reserve Bank’s submissions regarding her proposal for an independent review of New Zealand’s monetary policy response to the Covid-19 pandemic as required by section 194 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 2021?

Hon Nicola Willis: The Governor of the Reserve Bank wrote to me on 24 July 2025 to provide feedback on the draft terms of reference for the independent review. I considered the Reserve Bank’s feedback before submitting the terms of reference for consideration by the Cabinet Economic Policy Committee on 20 August 2025.
