3952 (2026). Ingrid Leary to the Minister of Health: How many referrals, for x rays, did Health New Zealand decline between January 2023 and January 2024, in the Otago and Southland, if any?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Southern district declined 384 referrals for x-rays in calendar year 2023, and 265 referrals in 2024. I am further advised it is not possible to break this number down to Otago and Southland. The Southern district covers Invercargill City, Queenstown - Lakes District, Gore, rural Southland, Clutha, Central Otago, Maniototo, Waitaki District, and Dunedin City.
