Hon Simon Watts: The Water Services Authority—Taumata Arowai (the Authority) does not hold this information. Regional Councils are responsible for the consenting of discharges from treatment plants, and the enforcement of compliance with those consents. Under the Water Services Authority—Taumata Arowai Act 2020, the Authority has national oversight functions for the environmental performance, management, and regulation of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater networks. This includes public reporting and setting national standards and targets around the performance of water networks and infrastructure.
