3941 (2026). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister of Conservation: What alternative protection classifications, if any, is the Minister currently considering for the Denniston Plateau following the decision to decline conservation park status?

Hon Tama Potaka: My current focus is to support the Department to implement the decisions I made to reclassify approximately 500,000ha of stewardship land on the West Coast. Any land that is not proposed for reclassification will remain as stewardship land which is managed and protected under the Conservation Act 1987.
