3920 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, refurbished Kāinga Ora homes have had nylon carpet installed since 1 July 2025 and how many, if any, had nylon carpet installed in 2024/25?

Hon Chris Bishop: Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities advises me that nylon carpet has been installed in 1,977 existing homes from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025 and in 5,330 existing homes in the 2024/25 financial year. These figures include all installations in existing homes for maintenance. This means everything from a patch repair to whole house recarpeting but excludes the Retrofit Programme. Kāinga Ora does not hold centralised records of the carpet used in Retrofits.
