3906 (2026). Lan Pham to the Minister of Local Government: Which, if any, Wastewater Treatment Plants reported an incidence of unconsented wastewater bypass or overflow in 2025, listed by name and location?

Hon Simon Watts: The Water Services Authority—Taumata Arowai does not hold this information. Public monitoring and reporting requirements for overflows and bypasses are introduced in the Water Services (Wastewater Environmental Performance Standards) Regulations 2025, to take effect from December 2028.
