Camilla Belich to the Minister of Transport: On how many occasions, if any, during the 2025 calendar year did each agency for which the Minister has responsibility suggest to a requestor that a fee would be charged for providing information requested under the Official Information Act and for each instance what was the cost suggested, the reason for the charge, and the date of the request?

Hon Chris Bishop: MoT: None NZTA: Two. In neither case did the requester respond to accept the charge or refine their request. - Request of 19 April 2025: suggested charge $3,724 for preparing 850 email trails (some with attachments) for release when the requestor refused to refine the scope of their request. - Request of 28 April 2025: suggested charge $1,444 for preparing 864 submissions for release. Consultation summary report was already publicly available, and submissions’ analysis was soon to be publicly released.
