Camilla Belich to the Minister for Economic Growth: On how many occasions, if any, during the 2025 calendar year did each agency for which the Minister has responsibility suggest to a requestor that a fee would be charged for providing information requested under the Official Information Act and for each instance what was the cost suggested, the reason for the charge, and the date of the request?

Hon Nicola Willis: I am advised by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), that information regarding the few occasions it may have proposed to charge is not centrally recorded. A manual search through a large number of Official Information Act 1982 records would be required, in order to provide a response to the Member’s question. As such, due to the time and therefore expense of such a collation, I do not believe that answering the Member's question is in the public interest.
