3822 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (October to December 2023) to ‘Develop advice on how equitable access and wider use of clinical trials can be achieved’ under Outcome 1: New Zealanders have a system that delivers consistent and modern cancer care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October to December 2023 quarter, the national Evidence, Research & Clinical Trials team progressed work on streamlining processes for multi-site and decentralised national trials, including cancer trials. I am further advised that the national travel assistance programme is available to assist people to access cancer clinical trials.
