3821 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: What was the nature of the work, if any was done, by Immigration NZ on the subject of monitoring or addressing migrant exploitation during the week of February 3rd, 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that as at 3 February 2025 all staff within the Immigration Compliance and Investigations branch (a different branch within MBIE) work on aspects of migrant exploitation including taking compliance and enforcement actions, triaging allegations, investigating employers and deporting offenders to help prevent further offending and maintain the integrity of the wider system.
