Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (October to December 2023) to ‘Develop and implement a mātauranga Māori framework for delivering this cancer plan’ under Outcome 2: New Zealanders experience equitable cancer outcomes, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Cancer Services models of care work undertaken by Te Aho o Te Kahu - Cancer Control Agency included development of a mātauranga Māori model for cancer surgery and the appointments of a role to support capacity and capability building in the area.
