3814 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality: In what circumstances would it be appropriate to charge for replying to Official Information Act requests made to their office, or agencies for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Louise Upston: As Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. With regard to my office, we follow the Ombudsman's advice on charging for Official Information Act requests. With regard to Crown entities under the Tourism and Hospitality portfolio, I am advised that Tourism New Zealand follows the Ombudsman’s advice on charging for Official Information Act requests.
