3814 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (October to December 2023) to ‘Develop and implement people- and whānau-centred care guidelines’ under Outcome 2: New Zealanders experience equitable cancer outcomes, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Cancer Control Agency has continued work to develop Optimal Cancer Care Pathways. This work includes incorporating whānau-centred care as a key principle, as well compiling best-practice content on cancer care that is written specifically for patients and whānau. These projects are underway.
