Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (October to December 2023) to ‘Consider additional population approaches to achieve and maintain a healthy weight’ under Outcome 3: New Zealanders have fewer cancers, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Matt Doocey: The prevention of non-communicable disease is a priority for this Government. Clinical guidelines for weight management in New Zealand adults are available on the Ministry of Health website here: https://www.health.govt.nz/publication/clinical-guidelines-weight-management-new-zealand-adults The latest results of the New Zealand Health Survey were released on 14 December 2023.
