3805 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (October to December 2023) to ‘Increase uptake of HPV vaccination’ under Outcome 3: New Zealanders have fewer cancers, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October to December 2023 quarter, the following progress was made to increase uptake of HPV vaccination: • Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora commissioned an independent review of the School Based Immunisation Programme. Its recommendations are being used to inform an action plan which includes a key focus on increasing uptake of HPV vaccination. • Health New Zealand considered how Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa (formerly Family Planning) could be assisted to provide HPV and other immunisations in more clinics.
