3802 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (October to December 2023) to ‘Develop a strategy to address H. pylori infection in priority populations’ under Outcome 3: New Zealanders have fewer cancers, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Cancer and Chronic Conditions research group (C3), University of Otago, are currently leading a population prevalence study linked to the International Agency for Research on Cancer. This work will help inform the future approach to the management of H. pylori.
