3778 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Energy: What are the total costs of staff redundancies, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies - or for any other staff for whom the Minister is responsible - between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025?

Hon Simon Watts: As Minister for Energy, I have no responsibility for any government departments or Ministries. With regard to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I refer the member to the Minister for Economic Growth’s answer to written parliamentary question 3776 (2025). EECA had eight redundancies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025 which resulted in a total cost of $266,091.00. The Electricity Authority had two redundancies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025 which resulted in a total cost of $77,000.
