3777 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for the Public Service: How many staff were made redundant, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, broken down by district, ethnicity, gender, and any other socioeconomic variable that is collected?

Hon Judith Collins: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, 14 Public Service Commission employees were made redundant, of which 11 were female and 3 were male. Of the 14 employees who were made redundant, eight were New Zealand European and seven were “Other Ethnicity”. The Public Service Commission’s only office is in the Wellington region.
