3773 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Vocational Education: What are the total costs of staff redundancies, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies - or for any other staff for whom the Minister is responsible - between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Total costs of staff redundancies for each of the departments is listed below: Tertiary Education Commission: From 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, there were 24 staff made redundant at the Tertiary Education Commission at a total cost of $746,918. For the Ministry of Education and New Zealand Qualifications Authority, I refer the Member to the Minister of Education’s response to written parliamentary question 3644 (2025). I am advised by Education New Zealand that the total cost of redundancies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025 was $526,62.
