Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Universities: How many staff were made redundant, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, broken down by district, ethnicity, gender, and any other socioeconomic variable that is collected?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: For the Ministry of Education, I refer the Member to the Minister of Education’s response to written parliamentary 3634 (2025). I am advised by the Tertiary Education Commission that between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, there were 24 staff made redundant at the Tertiary Education Commission. I refer the Member to the attached table, showing the list of redundancies by district, ethnicity and gender.
