3722 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister responsible for Ministerial Services: In what circumstances would it be appropriate to charge for replying to Official Information Act requests made to their office, or agencies for which the Minister is responsible?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: I have been advised by Ministerial Services that the Ministry of Justice who is responsible for administering the Official Information Act 1982 has provided charging guidelines for OIA requests. Further guidance is also provided by the Office of the Ombudsman.
