3719 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: How many graduate positions, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, between November 2024 and November 2025?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that as of 30 November 2024, there were 28 positions identified as being 'graduate' positions. Of those, 16 were occupied and 12 were vacant. As of 30 November 2025, there were 20 positions identified as being 'graduate' positions. Of those, 8 were occupied and 12 were vacant. New Zealand Qualifications Authority and Education New Zealand had no graduate positions between November 2024 and November 2025. The Education Review Office (ERO) does not have a formal graduate programme. Occasionally graduates are hired into ERO's research team.
