Camilla Belich to the Minister of Internal Affairs: On how many occasions, if any, during the 2025 calendar year did each agency for which the Minister has responsibility suggest to a requestor that a fee would be charged for providing information requested under the Official Information Act and for each instance what was the cost suggested, the reason for the charge, and the date of the request?

Hon Brooke van Velden: During the 2025 calendar year, the agencies for which I am responsible did not propose to any requesters to fix a charge for responding to their Official Information Act requests. For Crown Entities; Fire and Emergency, the Classification Office, and Lotto NZ have had no occasions where it was suggested that a fee would be charged in the 2025 calendar year.
