Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: How many staff were made redundant, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, broken down by district, ethnicity, gender, and any other socioeconomic variable that is collected?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples (the Ministry) that between the period 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, 38 staff were made redundant. Please refer to the attached table for the staffing breakdown by region, ethnicity and gender. The Ministry is not collecting data above and beyond what was collected during the period of employment (ethnicity, age, gender, location).
