Hon Penny Simmonds: I am advised the person managing the supports will determine whether the expense is considered a necessary part of their support. The Individualised Funding (IF) host or the Carer Support team’s role will be to ensure that the expense fits within the purchasing guidelines before it can be paid. It must still abide by Rule 3 of the IF Purchasing rules, in that it must be reasonable and cost-effective.
