3640 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Finance: How many staff were made redundant, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, broken down by district, ethnicity, gender, and any other socioeconomic variable that is collected?

Hon Nicola Willis: Between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, the Treasury made five (5) permanent employees redundant. All redundancies were in Wellington. Other socioeconomic variable data requested is not provided due to the small number of redundancies (risk of identifying individuals). RBNZ funding levels are determined through a five-year funding agreement. The approach to the next agreement is the subject of discussion between RBNZ and the Minister of Finance with no final decisions having been made.
