3638 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Customs: What are the total costs of staff redundancies, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies - or for any other staff for whom the Minister is responsible - between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that between 27 November 2023 to 7 February 2025, the New Zealand Customs Service has made a total of $4,783,547.39 in redundancy payments to staff. This response is inclusive of the staff of the Border Executive Board Secretariat as these staff are considered employees of the New Zealand Customs Service.
