3634 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Immigration: In the past 10 years, how many, if any, cases of victims of people trafficking were reported, broken down by nationality, age, gender, region, visa held, and industry?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that MBIE does not capture data in a way that allows reporting on the number of cases of people trafficking reported in the last 10 years. I am advised that for the period of 1 April 2023 to 28 March 2024, 15 persons were officially identified and certified as suspected victims of trafficking by New Zealand authorities.
