3627 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Customs: In what circumstances would it be appropriate to charge for replying to Official Information Act requests made to their office, or agencies for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Casey Costello: The Ombudsman has publicly released their guidance on charging for supplying official information, including guidance on circumstances where charging would be appropriate, which can be found on their website (https://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/resources/charging-guide-charging-official-information-under-oia-and-lgoima).
