3624 (2025). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with Mates in Construction chief executive John Chapman, that there was an opportunity for Mates in Construction to collaborate with other industries, with its community based mental wellbeing programmes; would the Minister be open to advocating for these programmes to go into other industries, and if not, why not?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am supportive of all initiatives that support the mental wellbeing of New Zealanders, regardless of the industry, and will always advocate for supporting improved mental health and wellbeing in New Zealand.
