3617 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Corrections: In what circumstances would it be appropriate to charge for replying to Official Information Act requests made to their office, or agencies for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Mark Mitchell: The Ombudsman has published guidance on charging for official information, which is publicly available here: https://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/resources/charging-guide-charging-official-information-under-oia-and-lgoima I am further advised there were no occasions in the 2025 calendar year where a fee was suggested or charged to a requestor in my Corrections portfolio. This is also my response to WPQs 3619 (2026) and 3622 (2026).
