3612 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister of Conservation: In what circumstances would it be appropriate to charge for replying to Official Information Act requests made to their office, or agencies for which the Minister is responsible?

Hon Tama Potaka: Section 15 of the Official Information Act (OIA) allows Ministers or Departments subject to the OIA to charge for the provision of any information. The circumstances for charging will depend on the nature of the request and the resource required to fulfil it.
