Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage: How many staff were made redundant, if any, in the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies between 27 November 2023 and 7 February 2025, broken down by district, ethnicity, gender, and any other socioeconomic variable that is collected?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that 13 staff were made redundant at the Ministry for Culture and Heritage. All redundancies were based in the Wellington region. Broken down by ethnicity; (1) person identified as Māori, (2) identified as Pasifika and (10) identified as New Zealand European. Broken down by gender; (3) were male and (10) were female.
