3571 (2024). Hon Jo Luxton to the Minister of Finance: As of 21 March 2024, what reports, briefings, memos, aides-memoire, notes, or written advice, if any, has the Minister received regarding the Ministry for Primary Industries’ 9% cut to staff, by title and date?

Hon Nicola Willis: As publicly announced, I have asked all agencies to identify savings proposals comprising 6.5% or 7.5.% of their eligible base. MPI was included in this request and has put forward proposals to achieve this. Decisions about options for inclusion in the Budget are made as part of the ongoing Budget process and will be finalised by Cabinet ahead of Budget Day. I am receiving a range of advice to support Budget 2024 decision making. This will be made public via the Budget 2024 proactive release that is scheduled to occur post Budget Day.
