3547 (2026). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: What was the nature of the work, if any was done, by Immigration NZ, MBIE or any other relevant party on the subject of monitoring or addressing migrant exploitation during the week of 26th January 2026?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that each week MBIE staff work on a range of matters addressing and monitoring migrant exploitation including reporting, policy development, assessing applications for migrant exploitation protection visas, taking compliance and enforcement actions, triaging allegations, investigating employers and deporting offenders to help prevent further offending and maintain the integrity of the wider system.
