3516 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: What comparisons, if any, were done to compare the capabilities of the new SMART progress monitoring tool and e-asTTle?

Hon Erica Stanford: I understand that the high-level features and functionality of e-asTTle were considered in procuring the Student Monitoring, Reporting and Assessment tool. As part of the Single Stage Business Case, the Ministry of Education considered the cost of upgrading and maintaining e-asTTle against the procurement of a modern, curriculum-aligned assessment tool.
